I’m making a post with all of the tags I use to categorize my reblogs. Here they are.
I normally don't recommend manga but talking about Isekai that literally didn't need to be one and could have lived as just a fantasy story on their own got me thinking of one that's out there right now.
What Do You Wish For With Those Murky Eyes?
Here's the synopsis:
One day, Raizou Takakura, an average salaryman, had a heart attack and his life ended that day. However, he got a second life in a different world.
Reincarnated with strong skills- wasn’t what happened to him, instead, he was reincarnated as a foot soldier in a small country, the Highserk Empire, which is surrounded by large countries.
With a new name, Walm, he was thrown into the frontlines of war. Covered in blood and the stench of death, along his comrades, he gets through many life-or-death situations.
Tempered through countless deadly battles, Walm gradually develops talent as a warrior which never would’ve awakened in times of peace. While his eyes grow dark and murky over time—
You could remove the Isekai nature from this entirely and it would still be an amazing dark fantasy story. There's 11 chapters out now and I would strongly recommend checking it out.
