Home Sweet Home
All but a stones throw from my home, it’s my extended back yard. It was nice to spend the afternoon with the kids out in nature, walking, splashing in muddy puddles and teaching them about various animal tracks and basis survival. #medieval #glasshousemountains #beerburrumstateforest #wamuran #elimbah #caboolture #moodlu (at Beerburrum State Forest) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9_dEoKn0fZ/?igshid=1hxcp2hmz6c1p

The Adventures of Mighty Mouse…
// <![CDATA[ (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.0"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); // ]]> Round 1, Mouse sneaks into luxury Donga veranda in middle of night – past dog… eats fruit and then departs.
Round 2. Mouse sneaks into luxury Donga veranda, eats fruit and then feeling rather gratified, goes for midnight swim in dogs’ water bowl. Dog snores until I wake up to investigate. At the sight of a tall, naked and very cold man the Mouse climbs out of water bowl (presumably to towel off before departing) I push mouse back into water bowl to save chasing it past now awake and alert watch dog. Mouse finishes evening by learning to fly,
Round 3. We catch mouse in catch and release trap… what now? Dog looks at it, watches it being released… then tries to find it in the grass while very fast mouse doubles back and hides between dogs hind legs.
Round 4, Mouse sneaks into luxury Donga verandah, eats fruit, departs without thank you note…
Round 5, We catch Mouse, I continue to sleep. Doris attends to it in true Austrian tradition.
Round 6. New Mouse annoyed with the steps introduced to stop it interfering with the Dogs sleep, takes to chewing things very noisily outside bedroom of luxury donga as retribution.
Round 7. We catch mouse in catch and release trap (again). Doris now can’t sleep as mouse is rattling it’s cage. Cage moved away from luxury donga. Dog wakes up and now thinks it’s found something we don’t know about and also proceeds to rattle cage. Warm bed is left for the 3rd time at 2am to move cage to safe spot where mouse can be comfortable until daylight (on hot water system). Now back in bed dog can be heard jumping up beside hot water system to look at mouse. Warm bed now left for 4th time and mouse cage moved to shed table and covered with tarp so mouse and dog can happily sleep. Wake in morning we discover very strong Mouse has pulled its very large metal cage off the table using the tarp for leverage and has escaped leaving the trap still closed… either that or the fierce guardian of our home has been corrupted and has sprung the mouse for a fee - letting it go in my rodent proof shed.
Round 8. Mouse again spends evening in catch and release trap, this time inside locked shed without the services of his new comrade the dog. Mouse taken for very long walk and released with white stripe painted on his bottom to establish if he’s brave or just well connected. Dog reported to authorities for aiding fugitives...
Round 9, (through clenched teeth) no sign of him… … but I’ll keep you posted…
