A politician from Taiwan, Wang Shijian, used to shout during meetings in a funny, rhythmic way. On October 8, 2025, mainland musician Wang Bo adapted the interpellation into an electronic track titled "Mei Chu Xi/No Ambition." Wang Bo also added a self-written rap section. The song became a hit because the original content wasn't harsh or insulting—it struck a balance, poking fun without being offensive—it’s about those times when you try to stay cool but everything goes wrong—something everyone can relate to. Office workers and students loved using it to joke about their own busy lives. Mei Chu Xi went viral first on Chinese mainland social media where many netizens recreate their own versions, and the trend later swept Taiwan as well, inspiring a wave of creative remixes. So Cnetizens from across the strait began playfully discussing this online. Many Taiwan people on Xiaohongshu chat and joke about it. When interviewed, Wang Zhijian himself said, "I think the internet is truly incredible — full of creativity, it’s absolutely amazing."

Bo Wang, born 1982 in Chongqing, China, is an artist and filmmaker currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
China Concerto is an observational essay about images, representations and performances in China’s contemporary spectacles. It takes a form of fictional letters about a man's encounters with all the images during his trip to China, narrated by a female voice with an untraceable accent. Shot mostly in Chongqing during the red campaign in 2010 and 2011, the film tries to capture the aspects of communist totalitarianism concealed beneath the veneer of capitalism, which seem to be overlooked after two decades of booming economics and social de-politicization.
Influenced by Guy Debord’s 4th thesis in his work Society of Spectacles, “the spectacle is not a collection of images; rather, it is a social relationship between people that is mediated by images”, Wang believes that the seemingly most mundane surfaces can possibly provide us with a glimmer of re-looking at the basis of the duo-structure of China in the post-Tiananmen era.
