wangzi-ye:
"It’s December 24th-” Pausing in his next plea, a small laugh left his tongue in the form of a wisp of white smoke.
How many years had this gone on for, anyway? He’d remembered, being accompanied by his older brother (Taiyou-there was no way in hell Anshi would agree to anything as festive and tiring as this-) wearing those bulky snowpants as they’d treaded through the ice-slick sidewalks, having memorized song after song that they no longer needed a lyrics book.
But as stubborn as his uncle had been, his own determination would match it.
So he just had to think.
“…Are you really gonna leave me out here in the cold?” A teasing smile dawned upon his face, cheeks reddened by the cold wind.
"You really are a pain sometimes, you know that, Zhao? I'm not a big caroler at all, and it's cold and the chances of getting shot in christmas eve are much higher as there are drunkards on the road from the eggnog, and..." He groaned, but the latter part of the other's argument had worked, and he got up to his feet and shut the patient files on his desk to put them away under lock and key.
"Fine. If only to be sure you don't get frostbite and have your fingers and toes sawed off." Really, he didn't want to, as he didn't know any of the songs, but... he still cared, and he was just sleep deprived in some way, but he pulled on his gloves, his scarf, and his winter coat. He pulled on his boots as well, and stepped out of his nice warm house.
"And I am going to be sure you eat, even if it's late. Calories increase body heat.... Where's your brother? He's almost always here with you begging me to come out with you caroling."
