OPEN WALLS BALTIMORE
by Interesni Kaski
Now more than six years old—but still holding up well—this wall just off of North Ave at the Maryland Avenue Adult Day Care Center was created for Open Walls 2012: the first of two events convened to enliven the public spaces of Baltimore’s Station North Arts And Entertainment District. Organized by internationally recognized Baltimore artist @GaiaStreetArt, the events gave local artists a chance to create alongside major global names like Interesni Kazki, the Ukranian duo of Aleksei Bordusov, aka Aec, and Vladimir Manzhos, aka Waone. Around 2003 Waone and Aec began working together and developing ways of using their art for next-level visual storytelling, leading them to form Interesni Kazki—meaning “interesting fairy tales or stories”—a couple of years later. After more than a decade of spreading their tales around the world Aec and Waone have focused on their individual careers since 2016. @waone_interesnikazki @aec_interesnikazki
Another one stunning artwork “Jump Through Time” by Ukrainian artist Waone in Mannheim, Germany. This piece was painted with the good people from stadt-wand-kuns, Montana Cans official and Alte Fauerwache in Mannheim Germany. Painting in just over eight days, this artwork measures 8 meters high by 12 meters long.
Murals by Interesni Kazki
Interesni Kazki is Aleksei Bordusov and Vladimir Manzhos, a duo from the Ukraine who also go by their respective aliases AEC and WAONE. They were the precursors of the graffiti movement in the East European countries and have painted public walls in the Ukraine and Russia for the past ten years. In the last three years, they have also painted a lot around Europe in their distinctive narrative and symbolist style.
