In the mid-90s, I befriended a kind soul named Everet who worked at World Domination Recordings in LA. We shared a love of Cindytalk, and he knew Cindy Sharp personally, and somehow put us in touch - partially based on our name share, but also because I was about to move to London. I can’t remember how the introduction came to be, but I think there were phone calls and maybe some emails. We eventually met in person in Dalston where I often spent the night after a wild night out at various underground events. I cherish my now 27-year friendship with Cindy and still have all the various scribblings and mixtapes she kindly made me. I am aiming to visit her late this year with any luck (CindySquared ™️ 🖤🖤) Pictured here are some postcards and flyers - AND most importantly an actual piece of the original artwork involved in creating the Wappinschaw album visuals co-created with her pal Steve Gullick (who I’ve yet to meet but I’m sure she mentioned my questionable love of The Cure to him 😜!)
