A look of confusion spread across the sergeant’s face as Babe came almost storming at him with a vague question. What hadn’t he told the private? He was one of his closest friends, there wasn’t a lot outside of commands only NCOs needed to know about. As he spun around to fully face the red head, arms began to cross over his chest. “Sorry Babe, not sure what’s got ya all up in knots like that.” His head tilted to the side. “Gonna be more specific?”

          they’re sitting alone in what was once a horse stall in the barn of an unknown german family when joe abruptly reaches out and tugs sharply at the ends of webster’s hair.  “ y’should let me cut this mop. ”  pausing, he lets his hand fall back into his lap, eyebrows raising.  “ just so i don’t hafta fuckin’ stare at it anymore. ”

Kalen could only laugh when Babe came vaulting into his foxhole, his first reaction to drop a cheesy line and a grin at the man. “You come here often?” It was more a joke than it was a line because Heffron had certainly been finding reasons to visit the medics foxhole for a few days now. “Cold hands, huh?” He mused, knowing already what it was Babe was angling for. “Got just the remedy for that.” Kalen chuckled, taking Babe’s hands in his own and pulling them under the blanket he was huddled under. It was nothing more than an excuse for the two to hold hands and they both knew it. Kalen might have even laughed at how sweet it was if he didn’t actually find it to be an endearing quality of Babe’s. It was such a nice moment that Kalen hadn’t even bothered to acknowledge the lingering, lurking presence of one Bill Guarnere standing over his foxhole.

Bill didn’t hear Lip walking up behind him, pausing in his own movement which wasn’t the best thing to do in this situation. Swallowing hard, he immediately hid the bottle behind his back as he turned to face the first sergeant. “Uh, don’t know what yer talkin’ about, sir.” He gave one of his signature smirks towards the man he’d known for the last couple years.”Just walkin’ along here ‘s all.”

A slightly familiar voice caught his attention, mind searching to put a name to who just called out to him. Then eyes widened, realization that it was Speirs caused him to stop walking. The other was an officer after all and a scary one at that. Everyone heard the rumors and the last thing Bill wanted was to be shot for not listening to him. “Back towards my platoon, sir.” He answered as the officer rounded to meet his gaze. “Is there a problem, sir?”

Cassandra couldn’t stop herself from rolling her eyes, a hand dropping to her hip as she chuckled under her breath. The preacher’s daughter looked more amused than concerned as she stood there regarding the man. “Well now I’m worried, if I were wearing boots I might even be shaking in them.” There was obvious sarcasm in her tone, and the little smirk of amusement that tugged at the corners of her lips only reinforced the notion that she was not taking the warning seriously.

Jessica paused what she was doing, mulling over the man’s words before finally turning to give him her full attention. “Merl...it’s not that deep.” She was used to him by now, able to deal with his abrasive personality and give just as good as she got when he really wanted to push her buttons. It was the cause of her dry tone, and light sigh as she let her eyes flick over him briefly before she attempted to return to novel she was studying for her classes.

She was rolling her eyes at the man before she could stop herself, of course he would decide on the stubborn route. Carmen was hardly surprised by that and could only heave a sigh as she fixed Frank with a hard look. “Well that’s too damn bad, because I’m stubborn and I don’t exactly like people dying on me.” Carmen’s voice was firm, and left no room for argument though she wouldn’t be surprised if he did continue with his stubborn insistence that he was fine when he clearly wasn’t.
