He can't say he misses the cells back in Skyhold. The pounding of the waterfall yet simultaneously the eerie quiet of being the only one locked away. The Inquisitor did not keep prisoners, and as he found out they did not intend to keep him one also. When they come for him months after his first hearing. He expects the Inquisitor has changed their mind, he's to be sent to Kirkwall, put to death, or banished. Bitterly all things he knows he deserves but only one he fears. Instead he's told they need to make up Warden numbers.
Being shipped to Weisshaupt was the last thing he ever expected to happen. It's just him and a few other recruits. Already down one as a man saw fit to cut and run. Surely being a Grey Warden couldn't be as bad as . . . what? As what? Samson was nothing now, he should be grateful to being sent here for a purpose. Even if that purpose was to die. 'Everything dies.' He comforts himself.
But then again he didn't know much about the Wardens. As they did what they were supposed to do and that's all he cared about, especially appreciated how they didn't stick their nose into others business. Yet he heard of how one 'joins', it was a 50/50 if he'd even make it through that. Still, the fresh air of the Anderfels did him some good the cells didn't.
"Hey? Stuff it." He tells the man across from him to shut up.
The closer they get to the fortress the more his 'brothers' all tremble. Samson does also, but it's from withdrawal then anything else. He's agitated at everything going on around them. Weisshaupt looms above them all and one can only hope who meets them tells them what the fuck is going to happen to them. As the one who steers the cart they're all riding in won't say a word. The Wardens really were a tight lipped bunch.
