Wardrobe Re-purpose : Day 2

Today let’s take a tour on wardrobe re-purpose on jeans, pants, shirts, tops and t-shirts.

 Old jeans !! Tough cloth huh!! Why don’t we try to give it a tough challenge and reuse it in a stylish way?

 Have you got any idea on how we can do that?

You, yes you… if you get any new idea you can feel free to share it with us.

 First, we will start with T-shirts. Till then, you can sort it out what to make out of the old jeans. Let’s see the magic then.

 T-shirts, if not torn but bored of the same design then we can take any oversized t-shirts, restyle it in any possible way and wear it.

 We can make crop top out of it or rather we can paint any pattern or design on it.

 We can do embroidery too!

Then comes top and shirt, we can make square cut neckline top, plain, peplum or shirred, out of an oversized top or shirt. Then comes, off-shoulder shirred top, beautiful shirred top with straps or even shirred tube top, which we can make out of any top or shirt.

 Even on tops and shirts we can do embroidery which is going to make it look different if it is a plain one.

 If we have two different color shirts, we can combine both of them to make one single shirt or top with two different contrasting tone.

 If it is very old like we can’t even wear it or torn. Depending on the fabric, even with t-shirts, we can make stylish pouch, mobile pouch or any kind of cover as per our need.

 We can even make a mat as given below:

·        Simple mat by combining and stitching 3 to 4 proper fabrics may it be cotton, linen, etc.

·        Braided or crochet mat, crochet mandala rug, crochet rug or we can say rag-rug out of unwearable t-shirts or any other fabrics.

 When we come to jeans… we may reuse it in many possible ways.

·        If it’s the same old jeans and you are bored of it, we can do makeover of those plain jeans by doing embroidery on it or painting something beautiful on it.

·        We can make a stylish jacket or apron out of denim jeans.

·        If it has got bit loosen and it’s a parallel jeans, ladies can wear it like boyfriend jeans we might need to fit the waist part a bit, but that’s cool.

·        We can even give a try making a denim skirt, shorts or three-quarter pant out of jeans.

·        If it’s a cotton pant depending on the texture, we can make shorts or three-quarter pant out of it too.

·        We can make bag or a small handbag out it. We can even make covers, pouch, mobile pouch, hanging pouch, etc. which will be useful in our day to day life.

·        We can also make a simple yet useful hanging storage bag out of old denim jeans or cotton pants.

·        Even with unwearable jeans we can make mats or crochet mats.

  Let’s all give it a try and see what we can recreate. There are various tutorials out there on internet, if you need any help on recreation.

Wardrobe Re-purpose

Old clothes in the closet? What we tend to do with those clothes?

If it is least used or a non-used one, we donate it. Otherwise, either we throw it or make wipers out of it.

Can we reuse our old clothes? Or can we re-purpose our wardrobe in a more variant way?

Let’s see, if we can do that!        

 We are going to start with the simplest cloth, Saree. One of the most loved, any occasion wear. It can be a traditional, formal, casual or even a gorgeous party wear.

 But what if it is old?

Many of us don’t like to wear the same old Saree which is 5 – 10 years old. What to do next with those Sarees?

 We can actually reuse it.

Generally, we use old cotton sarees for cleaning things and wiping off dust.

 Apart from these, depending on the Saree we can make either a skirt, top or kurti out of it. It will be stylish and we can wear it casually or even in a unique way.

 Then we can make a cover out of it, any cover like pillow cover, TV cover, cover to put bed-sheets, blankets or even mattress cover etc.

 We can also make quilt out of more than one saree and use it as bedspread, which will be soft and comfortable.

 Although quilting is one of the oldest techniques which was used to make thick fabrics by putting 2-4 fabrics in place together and stitching in different ways, used for protection and insulation. Still now we can observe the use of quilts as a bedspread or sometimes even as a blanket, in many places and famous among tribes too.

Thus, we can reuse Old Sarees in different ways, setting a new trend.
