I wish you could agree with Roathe's assessment of the Indifference...
Like, truly, I think the Indifference probably fits the bill for "god" in its reality, but that doesn't make it special.
Entrati is a self-important egomaniac who was the first person to ever step foot into an alien reality. After millennia of living in a universe where the only life comes from Earth, he was hoping to find something, anything, other than what he actually saw...
Nothing. The friggin Void.
For someone like that to come face to face with his own insignificance, he was probably horrified! He couldn't believe this reality was empty! Meaningless! Insignificant!
So, you know, the guy who has been alive for multiple lifetimes had a lot of emotions, and conceptual embodiment created a monster from his existentialism. He wanted a reason for living. He wanted a purpose for the Void. Thus... The Indifference was born!
I dunno about everyone else, but if I were suddenly face-to-face with a limitless expanse of nothing, I'd find it honestly beautiful! It wouldn't make me go all "blehhh Earth is all that matters" or whatever, I just... I don't know! It's not even like the ocean, where you know something's in the dark below and above you. It's... nothing. Limitless possibility! I don't think someone like me would ever come face-to-face with something like the Indifference, because I genuinely adore the meaninglessness of reality.
It's the overview effect! Blah! I could just boil it down to Entrati not being able to deal with the overview effect.
When nothing matters, you get to make it matter by being a caring and empathetic person, not an indifferent nihilist.
Anyways, that's my soapbox. Don't ever let yourself die, because life is all that matters <3
But no, my Drifter thinks all that's impossible and Roathe is mocking me for falling for Orokin propaganda :(
