I finally finished the collar prop for my Alad V cosplay! Modeled by myself from scratch in Fusion360 (mostly got through that part with a lot of spite lol), printed in PLA and some small resin bits. I ... don't know how long this took to make in total, worked on it in whenever I had the time but I also had to redo a lot of parts bc I left them out in the sun when it was really hot over here oops.
Yes it's wearable, yes it's quite heavy, but with the way it sits on your shoulders the weight is actually distributed fairly well. The main pieces do come apart for transport, but they don't move or slide into another. I'm no engineer lol.
To round off me catching up on posting some of my Warframe props I've made, here's my MR 30 slate!
Cast in resin, the slate part itself was sculpted in clay, the MR30 symbol I modeled in Zbrush and then 3d printed. I gifted a handful of these to the DE community team at Tennocon 2025.
I also made a few variants of these: A conquera version that I raffled off for QTCC 2025, a pride flag one as a gift to my spouse, and a Tennocon 2025 themed one I just barely managed to gift to DE Rebecca at Tennocon 2025.
Some WIP pics under the cut, plus bonus signed slate by the devs
WIP of the sculpting process, the golden symbol at that point was a resin cast I had made of the resin print- since it was such a thin piece I didn't want to risk it warping while I worked on the sculpt, so I made a quick mold of that and cast it in some spare resin.
Then the finished sculpt - I'm still super satisfied with how the slate turned out, doing all the stone texture was really fun.
And lastly the raw cast. I added some gold mica to the mold and then cast the resin in it, so all I had to do was paint the slate itself.
I'd honestly love to revisit this in the future and remake it a bit in a way that makes casting them a bit easier, plus I ran out of the mold making silicone I was using while making the mold and had to use some softer silicone just to fill it up all the way which has caused the mold to warp over time D: Plus there's some minor imperfections in the MR30 logo that I'd love to fix up. Idk when or even if I'll get a chance to redo this though tbh since at the time there wasn't really much interest in these.
I did however end up getting the slate I kept signed by everyone from DE I met at Tennocon (including Alad V's voice actor :D)
