The baernaloths are a race of fiends from Planescape 2e that live in Hades and created the yugoloths.

In the homebrew setting me and my friends made the baernaloths are an ancient race of fiends that created the baatorians (proto devils), yugoloths and obyriths (proto demons) by sculpting them from the clay of the lower planes.

Nurgle, also known as the "Plague Lord," "Grandfather Nurgle," "Fly Lord", "Great Corruptor" or the "Plague God," among many other honourifics, is the Chaos God of disease, decay, despair, destruction, death and rebirth. In particular, the emotion of despair in mortals empowers the Plague God more than any other. He is said to be an immense, bloated humanoid, his body swollen with putrefaction. His skin is shown as leathery and necrotic, his surface pocked with running sores, swelling buboes and oozing wounds. His paunch, swollen with corpse-gas, spills stinking organs, and a legion of daemonic mites -- nurglings -- play among his entrails and suckle the pus-riddled discharge streaming from his sores. Two grand horns, yellowed, chipped, and encrusted in blood and vile substances sprout from his head. His blubbery, pustulated face wears an amiable smile of contentment.
