I've Got You | Ariel & Eric
That voice. Her Voice. It was still with him even now, even when everyone from the healer to Phillip was telling him that it was nothing more than a figment of his imagination. You were too long at sea. That's what they'd said when he first told them about the beautiful song that pulled him to the edge of the ship day after day, even during the storm that struck when they were almost safely home. It can do strange things to a man's head. They insisted when he spoke of the girl who'd dragged him from the waves and stayed by his side until he came round.
The castle walls were driving him almost as mad as everyone seemed so sure he was. It had been a week since he'd almost drowned and he could still hear her just as clearly as he had when she was on the sand beside him. He needed to get out and there was only one place that could make him feel better so he got Max and made the short journey down to the water.
The sound of the waves was soothing but not quite enough to drive away the melody that had been haunting him for so long. Not even playing with the his boisterous dog at wrestling was enough to distract him from wondering who she could have been. It was while he was lost in these thoughts that Max took off barking down the sand the way he only did when there was something or someone he didn't know present.
"Max come back" He yelled as he gave chase. It was never a good look to have your pet terrorising innocent people as they tried to enjoy the favourable weather down by the sea but when Eric got closer to Max's newest annoyance he noticed that the dog wasn't annoyed at all. In face he was covering the poor girl with licks, so many that he seemed to have knocked her to the floor. "I'm sorry M'lady." Eric offered with a blush, one hand pulling Max off of her while he gave a small bow. Only then did he notice that the girl on the sand was shoeless and that her only clothes seemed to be an old tattered sail from one of the fishing boats that trawled the shore.
Without a second thought he let go of Max and unclipped the cloak from his shoulders to kneel beside her and wrap it around her tiny frame. "A-are you okay, M'lady?"
