The number of times I've been yelled at for skipping a few is insane. And I'm like "my sister almost died" "WELL YOU DONT KNOW IF THE BABY WILL HAVE THE SAME reaction??"-.-
I am really sorry for that. It is so hard when YOU have personal experience with reactions to vaccines. So I totally feel ya. There is a good chance this kiddo will inherit my crazy allergies (my mom has them too... ). It isn't worth finding out the hard way. My goal is to do the: "Is not getting the vaccine potentially worse than the side effect?" Polio, yup. Chicken pox, no. (And don't get me started on how the chicken pox vaccine is going to affect shingles rates... they actually have no clue what will happen to this generation of kiddos in terms of shingles because the vaccine hasn't been around long enough. Though there is a good amount of SCIENTIFIC speculation that those of us without the vaccine have a better chance of showing symptoms of shingles, since exposure to chicken pox throughout life seems to reduce your chances of getting shingles... And due to the vaccine we aren't being exposed to chicken pox as much. Luckily, this hasn't happened yet, but we are obviously at the beginning of this experiment. I read an article discussing how exciting it was that shingles rates hadn't spiked yet and how awesome that was. I felt like I was in a trial study I didn't sign up for...)
I am glad there are some people out there being reasonable with me, even if we have our different reasons. :-)
