GAZE LIFTS WITH a swift sharpness, narrowing upon the target in front of her. she’s ITCHING to throw her daggers, hand twitching dramatically near her belt as the person slowly falls from her view. shoulders slump, and she’s about to get up when she spots him. “i thought i told you to not come up here anymore? it’s DANGEROUS.”

   The bar is unusually busy tonight, so when she spots someone struggling to find a seat she motions to the empty one next to her. She isn’t expecting anyone tonight so it’ll be nice to have some company.

Blackened lips part as the witch tuts gently, a flurry of flapping wings and confused cawing clasped in her hands. “Foolish old thing,” she murmurs, her voice both annoyed and tender. The stupid thing, a crow, had managed to get itself tangled in one of the snares the witch had set up around the wood to catch rabbits, breaking its wing as a result. With a tenderness many think impossible from her, she holds it close to her heart, ignoring the squawks of protest as she lets the healing magic pass from her like body heat.

A nearby twig snapping has her head lifting suddenly from the bird, eyes narrowing at the rustling that follows. “If you are here for your fortune to be told, I am far too busy to tell you whatever foolishness it is you want to learn.”

FINGERS ARE CLAMPED TIGHT around the flashlight although he’s not worried that he’ll drop it anytime soon. the light hasn’t even gone yet, still glimmering just along the edges of the tombstones. this made them end up looking like halos, like each stonework was blessed by some lighter being that he knew did not exist. especially not in this cemetery, not with the recent events. regardless, he barely registers he’s not alone till it’s almost too late. “--- you’re not the raging ax murderer come to kill me, are you?”
