how many pets do ginny and harry have???

this is, of course, barring any of their kid’s animals ( which i would assume they each get one when they go off to hogwarts ) – harry and ginny both have a tendency of just… showing up at home with a new addition.

arnold, of course, lives a very long and happy life on the shoulders of both of them. fawkes, i feel, definitely comes to harry at some point while ginny probably gets her own owl around the time she moves out of the burrow. from there a dog comes into play at some point – a mutt that was found with a litter very clearly not his own. two cats, one a stray that took a shine to them who has a strong independent streak but usually comes back proudly every once in awhile to ensure everyone is Fed; and the other a very needy shorthair.

between this they are always sheltering or taking in an influx of animals. there’s a goat at one point ( mostly a joke from aberforth, turns out to be a great companion ). and there’s always room for more.

there are the beginnings of H E L L F I R E personified beginning to sprout behind his ears, pushing through his crumpled shirt -- feathers, bloody and bursting through silvered-skin. they are the consequence of RAGE -- of frustration and pain and loathing. he had always somehow known what she had said to him could never be true -- he had never trusted her, knew better, had always known better and yet... and yet hope is a dreadful and terrible thing, that latches onto your ribs so tightly it strangles you from within, making deals with devils just to b r e a t h e.

lips pull back to show f a n g s, eyes darkening savagely as he fights with his pain ( getting hit with that curse had sent him reeling -- whatever it was... ) and though he may look a ABSOLUTE BEAST, sprouting feathers and fangs, he doesn’t have -- would never have -- the courage to move from his spot, crumpled on the ground. and so he snarls, motionless, all bark without a bite, at the back of the l a u g h i n g woman.

and he was the one deemed a monster...
