okay i watched the full vid of the Kaplan intervie on your channel and i gotta say, i think the host wasnt trying to be dismissive of mchanzo, her words just came out wrong i think. the way she said it i think she meant the exact opposite, that mchanzo sounds fantastic (maybe with a hint of sarcasm but whatever), she just never heard of it

With the way she worded it, at first it sounded like she felt like ‘it was fantastic’ that she never heard of McHanzo.

But you never know what someone’s illocutionary intent was. The perlocutionary effect can sometimes end up being something else, and take an entirely different meaning than what the speaker intended.

I was also tired and running on a few hours of sleep, which is why it sounded like sarcasm when I first heard it. It didn’t help of course, that the hosts were awkward and came across as a bit clumsy, particularly in regards to the things they said, or were trying to say. (lol)

Which is why I didn’t post the entire vid, as I thought people would have a negative reaction to it. It’s why I omitted it from my initial upload.

(Though as the comments and tags for that post proved, people didn’t need to see that bit to be stupid after all. I mean, you just give them an inch, and they’ll manage to make a noose and hang themselves with it.)

But who knows? Maybe she’s open to the idea of McHanzo after all.

But at least she’s heard of McHanzo now. Hopefully, Michelle is now open to it.

Anyways, thank you for sending me this ask. And for presenting a different perspective in a calm, and polite manner.
