how about US and UF paps? with a skeleton reader and theyre on the surface and humans still dont like monsters, so theyre being really rude to them, what would pap do?
US!Papyrus(Stretch)-
Stretch is kind of used to this treatment on the surface. He’s not one of the more cuddly looking monsters like Asgore or the Dogs so it’s only natural that people are more scared of him. Not that it doesn’t bother him, but he’s gotten to the point where these actions roll off him like water on a duck’s back. It only really gets to him when they are directed at his friends or family. If someone attempts to insult or harass Blue when he’s in earshot they’ll get a demonstration of Stretch’s sharp tongue.
Backhanded comments, disses, straight up roasting, and he’ll unleash it all until the offending party is shut up by his words. He doesn’t let his temper show very often, he’s supposed to be the lazy, relaxed brother, but there are times when he needs to stand up. You being rudely treated by the close minded humans is one of those times.
Much of the time, you stand up for yourself. You tell off the store clerks who call you an ‘it’, you take no crap from your bosses who try to pay you less or cut your hours. You’re his strong skulled little sweetsoul, but even you have your days. Days when the words of those who would tear you down get in your skull and try to dampen your soul. On those particular days, you need someone to stand by you, pick you up, and help you hold your head up high. That’s what he’s there for.

Stretch has about five breaks over the course of his average work day. His numerous jobs, as easy as they are, keep him preoccupied, but he still makes sure to take one break every day to visit you. You had started working as a waitress at a little bar in the business district about two weeks ago. It seemed like an easy enough job for you and would work for you until you found another, more permanent one. Stretch liked to ‘pop’ in during his lunch break to eat while he watched you skitter around to the different tables taking orders and occasionally sneaking over to him for a quick skelle-kiss, as Sans liked to call it. Today was not one of those nice days.
The second he pops into reality inside the bar, Stretch’s skull is filled with the sound of shouting. At the open side of the bar, stretch sees you and your manager. Your body language looks like you are trying to sink into the floor or just disappear into your own discomfort. Leaning over you, just blocking your face, stands your balding boss, screaming at the top of his lungs at you. The color of his exposed neck and arms was bright red from the exertion of his yelling. Behind the manager, sitting at a small, round, high table, were two female humans snickering into their hands with a broken glass by their chairs. It took a moment for Stretch to read the scene, before he slapped on a tight grin and made a move.
“hey boss man.” The red face of your manager suddenly inches from Stretch’s cold grin. “do you think it might be possible for you to cool down there before you pop a blood vessel there red lobster?” Stretch, now teleported carefully between you and your boss, coolly interrupts your manager’s tirade. The large man stumbled back from Stretch’s sudden appearance, startled out of his rage. Looking over his shoulder to you, Stretch takes in your face. Your normally comforting skeletal smile was pulled down heavily at the edges and your cheek bones were tracked with tears you tried to brush away with shaky hands. “honey? are you okay? did anything happen?” Stretch quietly says to you.
“I-I’m alright, just shaken.” Your words coming out with a shuddering breath.
“alright, what do you want to do?” He asks as he turns slightly and grips one of your hands in his.
“I just- I just want to go home. I don’t want to work here anymore. No, I can’t work here anymore.” You sob as you grip his hand tightly.
“it’s ok sugar skull, you don't have to. go grab your things and we’ll get out of here ok?” Stretch kisses you hand as and then leads you just past your fuming, now former, manager. You run to the employee area of the bar to gather your things and Stretch turns his attention to your boss. “look here pal, i’m not sure what kind of fuckin’ clown circus you’re running around here, but if you think you can go around screaming at your monster employees because you’re biased against them, then you have another thing comin’.” Your still cherry faced boss opens his mouth to make a retort, but Stretch cuts him off and straightens his back to his full height.
“don’t even try to deny it either, i’ve seen that barely legal bar-back girl drop a whole case of beer on the floor and get off with a laugh and a pat on the back. don’t even make me bring up the ‘shared breaks’ you two have in your office almost every lunch break i’ve been here for, you old perv. my little lady might be too polite to say anything, but i’m not.” By this point in Stretch’s rant he had stepped over to the now quickly paling man and poked a finger at his chest. “if i hear even a bad word toward this crappy establishment from another monster i will personally report you for discrimination through dignitary, lady toriel herself is. that. clear?” Stretch growls out as he glares down at the man with sharp pin pricks of light. Nodding, the man quickly turns back to his remaining staff. The rest of the bar patrons were now staring at Stretch with a slight fear, but he let it roll off his back easily.
You return with your things after another moment, looking far more collected than before. Stretch wraps an arm around your waist with a calming grin on his face and teleports you both home.
UF!Papyrus(Edge)-
Edge will be your self appointed body guard from the moment you start dating, both in the Underground and above ground. He is already used to the harsh words and glares from his time in the Underground, but it doesn’t stop him from trying to keep you away from it. You never seemed to be as affected by the anger that permeated the Underground. You were his little light, his sunspot, in a world of hate and dust. Your kindness and love for him give him the strength to deal with even the hardest of days and in return he will protect you no matter what.
That doesn’t change when you make it to the surface. Rude remarks, discriminatory actions, or general slights, to Edge it doesn’t matter. The Underground was worse in many ways and it doesn’t bother him much because of that. For you though, anyone who tries to dampen your soul or make your life harder is either going to be glared into submission or given a long speech on the laws against descrimination toward monsters. This does lead to a few lost job opportunities for you and more than a few fist fights, but it’s his job to protect you and keep you happy. Asgore be damned if he’s not going to do it to the best he can.
❤️🖤❤️🖤
It was finally date night! After a long week of wading tables at Grillby's, the only monster owned business that paid enough, it was finally time for you and Edge to spend some quality time together. It was supposed to be a lovely evening of going to the museum for their new exhibit on ancient weapons and battle strategies, a little stroll, and then dinner at a new Italian restaurant that just opened nearby. That's what it was supposed to be. Instead, here you were, crying in the middle of a museum.
It had started just fine, each exhibit as interesting as the next. Edge relaxed into an info dump about the research he had done the days before coming, to impress you. It started off small, small glances from some groups, one in particular. Three teenage boys, who seemed to be entertaining themselves making crass jokes about the exhibit, rather than learning from it. They started latching onto you and Edge.
“I think part of the exhibit got out!” One said, in a fake whisper.
“Nah, they're probably paid to walk around and scare people. Make the place more authentic.” The second, smaller, kid chuckled back.
“Maybe they're just a couple of freaks, who don't know their place.” The third sneered.
Edge did his best to direct you away from them, talk over them, glare them into combustion, but sense was chasing the teens today, and they were too damn fast. By the midway of the exhibit, Edge looked down at you, only to see pricks of tears in your eye sockets. Enough, was enough.
“Maybe the girly one will be up for a bo-”
“EXCUSE ME.” Edge's voice rang out in the mostly quiet space. The three boys heads snapped to attention, meeting the skeletons' eye lights. “What is so funny?” Edge made the question sound like a threat.
“W-what?” The smallest peeped out.
“What is so funny, CHILD?” Edge repeated.
“Well, I mean, you- she-” The three stumbled over each other, staring anywhere, but the red pricks of light.
“Explain the joke child, why you get to laugh while making my love cry, WHAT IS SO FUNNY?” Edge's voice coming to a booming tone at as he questioned the boys into a corner.
“We're sorry! We're sorry!” The once sneering boy put up his hands in a placating motion, while backing up.
“Yeah, sorry, we were just-” one of the others were cut off.
“Just what?! Making a hostile environment for fellow patrons? Making fools of yourselves? Making an innocent cry? I am going to give you one chance to leave, before I make you all a part of the recent history department. Now GO!” Your dark skeleton pointed to the door and the three teens bolted like cats out of hell, leaving Edge huffing and tense. He attempted to even his breathing, before turning back to you. “I'm sorry, date mate, I wished to keep my temper for the evening, for you, but-” as Edge was cut off by your arms wrapping around his neck and tugging him down into a hug.
“Its ok, thank you sweetie, I just felt so exposed, having them gock and laugh at us. Thank you for being my knight in a knit suit of armor.” You tease, as you tug on the sweater you insisted he wear for the night.
“W-well yes, the Grand and Powerful Papyrus is glad he could protect you.” He stuttered, blush creeping to his cheek bones, while returning the hug. “Now, shall we get back to our lovely evening my love?” Edge said, hooking your arm in his and continuing to lead you through the rest of the museum.
