I don't know how to wash my hair.
Well, now you might wonder whether I've lived on the mars bc of this statement, but no, hear me out.
I've had dreadlocks for 4 and a half years until I decided to cut and open them 2 weeks ago. Now I've got a longbob and as you'll probably guess, my hair is a little bit damaged.
Well, now to my debate. During all the years of being a dreadhead I established my own washing routine, only using a basic shampoo while washing my hair once every or even every second month. My dreads were neither greasy nor did they smell, and that was perfectly fine for me. Now that I've cut them, I kind of have forgotten my washing routine of when I didn't have dreads and well, my hair wasn't that healthy either back then.
Now I fear encouraging my scalp to grease by washing them too frequently. So I'm thinking of kind of keeping my new routine simple, by also washing them only once a month and by using the no-poo method. This basically means not to use any shampoo but take advantage of natural products.
I'm still making up my mind, as I haven't got any experience with it. For all you readers, do you know how to properly carry out this special form of hair care? Or do you even practise it yourself? I'm curious about your answers, so please don't hesitate :))
