"is that even a question?" boone chuckled softly. he tapped the wooden spoon on the edge of the pot three times before putting it down against the unused lid of the pot and stepped away from the stove. "actually, i'm a little hurt you even had to ask, miles." if it didn't seem like an insane thing to say, to do, boone would have miles here all the time. day in and day out, move his things in, he'd completely lose everything he'd into the place to build something new with miles.

ophelia and cassius — she is a mess, and has a habit of getting involved with people that aren’t good for her or a mess themselves. i have yet to throw her into any potentially dangerous type plots / threads so, i think the sense of danger that surrounds him would be interesting. she obviously could be oblivious to it, and their dynamic could be strictly random hook ups for him to get his mind off of the shit that he’s dealing with, and then her side is her calling him when she’s been drinking away her own personal turmoil. she is very loosely marissa cooper from the oc based, just to give you an idea of what messy ophelia can sometimes be like.

gabriel and miles — gabriel is a poet, writer and all around nice guy. he can be oblivious at times but, he does make up for things that he misses. i do think they would be a couple of soft boys together, and would really bond over mutual love for the classics. ophelia is his sister so, again, he does deal with his own messes as well. he does not have a relationship with his parents due to how he was treated, and then later how his sister was treated. i see potential, and then we can always add in sprinkles of angst here and there, just cause it’s me, and i do love my angst. and that could always include his brother meddling in, or his sister, or really anything.

camden and nova — am i thinking of the whole skater boy / ballet girl trope? probably but, the song came to my head and i just love the idea of it? of course, camden is a goofball, never really all that serious. he has been part of the x games, and is well known to those that actually enjoy skateboarding. he would be intrigued by her, and though he wouldn’t know a thing about ballet, it fascinates him, and watching her dance would be calming to him. maybe she’s the one that has that conversation with him about her not knowing if that’s what she wants to do? and he could help her navigate through that? then him taking her to competitions, and showing her that world.

"she'll find all your movies charming, i promise." going out was supposed to be fun, right? it was fun once upon a time, but having a kid changed a lot, and now all she could think about was how much her babysitter was charging and whether or not her sister was going to call her in a meltdown about coen and good god, just how uncomfortable her shoes were. either way, no matter how attractive they were, she was not the one to flirt with. they would go running once they learned she had a kid at home. most people did. @cxsmicwrites

she forgot entirely that they were supposed to see each other tonight. rory was curled up in a blanket on her couch, a basket of soggy tissues and a box of kleenex across from her. her face was streaked with red and she looked a mess. it wasn't until she heard the familiar knock on her door (a brief thought about giving him a key wrought another sob out of her as she realized just how fucked up she must be tonight to even have that thought) that she remembered they had plans. rory dried her eyes and extracted herself from the nest of her heavy white knit blanket she always had around. she padded to the door and pulled it open, no attempts to hide her disheveled appearance. "i am so sorry, i completely forgot." she said, guilt written across her expression.

nothing was fixed. nothing was wildly new or overwhelming or terrifying, at least not beyond what was normal for coen. he went to his next fight, won this one much faster than the last, and despite how much of a mess things were, he had plans with camden the day after. three days after their last—well, since they'd kissed. since words had been exchanged. maybe the reason nothing had spooked him yet because he hadn't really let himself sit and panic about it. either way, smoke between his fingers, a scarf tied tightly around his neck and a lightness in his chest that was entirely too foreign to him, coen headed from his car into the park where they'd agreed to meet up. he had a new cut, some long painful stretch across his cheeks and over his nose. he only tolerated the pain because he was pretty sure he looked like a cool video game character. he spotted camden on a picnic table and a smile broke across his face. "hey, stranger." he beamed.
