Ghost Files spotted on ABC!
In a recent episode of the ABC series, The Rookie, two of the characters are watching tv and it shows an episode of Ghost Files!
The moment was posted on Instagram.
Looking at what Ryan's wearing (no beanie and shorts) it was easy to tell the episode is GF 2x02 The Trapped Spirits of a Haunted Escape Room. The dialogue in the second screenshot is Ryan saying "There's something in here." which is also how we confirmed the episode and GF timestamp.
The moment is brief but fans have noted that it might be leading to a longer cameo by the ghoul boys in a future episode!

Interviewer: So you've announced that you're doing your own streaming platform correct? What's going to change really you know? Ryan: For Ghost Files, I mean it's kind of the thing that's going to allow us to take bigger swings like we did this season, like going international, upgrading some of our kit, and just overall making the show better and more sustainable behind the scenes 'cuz it's a really hard show to make. And then as far as like other series it's going to allow us to make those a little bit better but also allow us to make new series in general, and also bring on new faces to the to the channel that we haven't previously been able to. YouTube is like a little bit of a harder place sometimes for that kind of content to survive…sometimes if something isn't getting the proper amount of views that it would need it wouldn't survive perhaps in that environment but on a different environment, perhaps our own platform, then maybe it will have a better chance and now that we have both it'll allow us to, I guess, really give everything a try. But really more than anything it's just about improving things across the board and then taking bigger risks on our shows.

Photos show them wearing their Ghost Files jackets, with their names on them, so they'll be playing a version of themselves.
The Rookie 7x15 is going to be a documentary style episode, which is a format they've used before but it's not how every episode is written. The episode plot will feature the LAPD investigating a disappearance from an abandoned psychiatric hospital, and that's where their paths cross with Ryan and Shane who were investigating the location for Ghost Files.
The Rookie 7x15 will air on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
If you want to watch the episode live in the US it will premiere at 9pm PST on your local ABC channel. Episodes are also available on Hulu with a subscription the next day starting at 2am PST. The episodes are also available on the official ABC website after an unknown waiting period.
The trailer for The Rookie 7x15 is available on YouTube but does not contain any footage of Ryan or Shane. Content/trigger warnings for the trailer and episode include mentions of true crime, missing persons, abductions, and serial killers.
