Happy late Pokemon 25! Pokemon Legends got me thinking about my original first starter and favourite, Oshawott, and in turn, got me thinking about this “Miju project” thing. It started as one of my first gijinka art I ever posted online, and then I kept on redoing it every year or so for three years... and then I forgot about it... until now.
Every time I do this I’m proud of how far my art style has changed, but boy, seven years is a lot of time for things to change since the last iteration! However, the most drastic change to my art style probably came only in the last year, when I started to transition towards traditional over digital art.
Man I wish I had the time to write about all the awesomeness that Pokemon has brought me ever since my older brother introduced the franchise to me when I was a child. But, I’ll just leave it that Pokemon isn’t just a video game and setting I like, but it’s also the thing that inspires me to pursue so many creative hobbies and spark my imagination the most! (Maybe to an unhealthy degree, but who knows.) Thanks, Pokemon.
