Lila Árnyék means Purple Shadows in Hungarian and it describes the ink well. It’s a lovely and original Blurple Black that flows wonderfully from my French Waterman C/F L (B). 💙💜🖤 . Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black (aka the illegal ink) and Waterman CF Moiré (the flea market miracle). . For some odd reason, Pelikan 4001 which can be used by grade school kids in Europe is banned for import in the US. It’s a somewhat dry shading ink. I like the color, but I think it thrives more on the taboo than the color. 🧐🤷🏻 . As for the pen, the Waterman CF is a landmark pen. Other than its timeless sleek design, it is also the first pen to use a plastic cartridge and as such It revolutionized the pen market in the US, and especially in France. The CF silver Moiré has a unique guilloche pattern designed specially for Waterman. I found the pen body and cap with a wrong section and nib-less for 5€ at a flea market early in the year. Then I scoured online and real markets for the right section and nib (ideally B) until I found it with a not so nice body and cap. The it was just a matter of cleaning it all well and refilling a CF cartridge. Needless to say, I’m loving this! . How are you starting your week? . For this edition of @AppelboomPennen ‘s #FreeFountainPenFriday, I have a very special story to share 😊 . The Waterman C/F is a timeless classic. It was initially sold in France as “the American marvel” and it was the first pen to use plastic ink cartridges as we know it today. Needless to say, it was very successful from the moment it was introduced in 1954. Just for the lovely design and historical value, I had always considered having one of these pens in my collection... 🤓 . Then at this year’s Pelikan Hub, @qrsami showed me how beautifully his C/F wrote and I was hooked! 💕 I was considering getting one at the Rocollection show this Saturday... but I got very lucky and found one at a flea market just a couple of weekends ago! 🍀 . This lovely Waterman C/F is likely from the 1960s or 1970s (based on the logo) and has a magnificent coarse L nib (similar in size to a Platinum C but way smoother if you can imagine it). ✨✒️❤️🖋✨ .
