First full day of my #writingresidency @fineartsworkcenter and I’ve finished my self-assigned reading for the day, restructured and edited an essay, typed up a first draft of an erotica short and went to the #watersedgecinema to see #tonimorrisonthepiecesiam I was so sad about her death however seeing this film while being in #writerisolation is just what I needed. To me #tonimorrison and #jamesbaldwin is the sky I reach for. Knowing that she was in her 40’s when she really started writing comforts me. I have to remind myself that the #creativelife is a process, #writing is a process and as long as I keep showing up to the page I’ll get there.
