Wat Thampla literally means ''fish cave temple'' but you can also hear people calling it ''monkey temple'' because a horde of monkeys live in the mountain just above it and inevitably some of them do come in the temple. Your presence will not disturb the monkeys whom you will encounter, but remain cautious anyway. ⠀ ⠀ The monkeys, the pond with the fishes and the cave are the curiosities of Wat Thaam Pla. They also have many sculptures which explains how hell looks like and what punishments you will get for your sins.⠀ I don't think instagram will like if I post those pictures on their platform so you must go and see them yourselves when you get the chance. ⠀ ⠀ There is also a closed pool with crocodiles in it, but you know me and I prefer animals to enjoy their freedom and not be bound in any way. This is one of the main reasons I never visit zoos. ⠀ ⠀ Those caged crocodiles is my only regret about this little known temple that very rarely sees foreign tourists.
