Week 3 Wavelength Cycle + Norman McLaren Research
our task for week 3 was to make a wavelength cycle animation using TV paint. To develop it I'm going to use what I did as practice and turn it into a person with their hair flowing in the wind. One of the 12 animation principles used for this practice was overlapping action which is having body parts and appendages dragged behind the rest of the body and continues to move when the body stop. another example can be followed through which refers to the way parts of the body continue to move after the body has stopped.
An animator who used this in their work was Scottish- Canadian animator, director and producer Norman McLaren who was a pioneer and innovator in the film industry. His style of animation and filmmaking varied from abstract animation, Visual Music, Pixelation, graphical sounds and drawn on film animation.
