wavrn replied to your post “Purrfect Christmas (USUK)”
I'm glad you were able to join the event, or I wouldn't have been able to read this nice story. The cats sounded cute. Good job on the surprise and coincidences! How did Prussia keep America and England from seeing each other's presents?
I’m so glad you enjoyed the story!
And haha, I assume he shut either one or both of the cats in his bedroom depending on who was visiting him. And since both Alfred and Arthur wanted to keep their cat a secret, they didn’t mention it when the other might be able to hear. He didn’t have the cats for more than like a week or two so it wasn’t too too difficult.
For the "50 Random Hetalia Asks:" 1, 2, 13, 22, 29, 31, 38, 46, 47, 49
I wasn’t expecting to get any more of these so please enjoy my cynical and slightly sarcastic answers.
1: What got you into Hetalia?
I was on an oekaki drawing pogeymans and someone kept posting about “hetalia” and it sounded badass so I checked it out.
It was not badass. I was deceived.
2: What month and year did you first start watching it?
Technically I started December 2009 but as I said, I was deceived and quit because I didn’t find it interesting.
Then I wanted to see Italy betray Germany because I thought THAT might be badass so I started watching seriously again in March 2010.
13: How have you contributed to the fandom?
I draw stuff like once a month and update a fic like once a year.
And I made a NK OC.
22: Thoughts on HetaOni? Have you played it?
Haven’t played it, tried to watch a playthrough of it once and got bored. It’s probably overrated. Dodged a bullet by not being in a HetaOni panel at a con once because I didn’t know anything about it. The acting ended up being...um...bad.
29: Do you cosplay any of the characters from Hetalia?
I cosplay America. I also cosplay China and Korea and used to cosplay Japan, but I only have Japan’s black outfit and I’m self-conscious about wearing that anymore.
31: Look at the country you are currently living in. If they are an official Hetalia character, how do you feel about that character, as well as the country itself?
I live in America and I’d say he’s pretty accurate.
38: How much has Hetalia taken over your life?
It’s basically my only fandom other than Pokemon so it’s sufficiently taken over my fandom life, but I like...actually have a life now so I’m spending way less time doing fandom stuff than I used to.
46: Are you glad that you started watching Hetalia?
Yeah. Imagine if I’d gotten into hamsteak instead.
47: What did you do before starting to watch Hetalia?
I watched Avatar and played Pokemon obsessively. And I had a shitty crossover fanfic of the two featuring fakemons. It was p cringe but I still think about it sometimes (see: often, because lore is fun).
49: What is the thing in general that you absolutely love about Hetalia?
I can portray history in a way that is so much easier to understand.
Are late submissions accepted? How low after the week can we submit?
Yes, late submissions are allowed! And I don’t really have a time limit for how long after you have to submit. So don’t stress if something comes up, I’ll reblog when you tag me.
For the meme: moon, yarn, woods, fur, sour cherry, spice, tobacco, cuckoo clock
moon: what is your astrological sign?
Scorpio
yarn: what are your most enjoyable hobbies?
Definitely singing and guitar
woods: where do you feel at peace?
Back in California
fur: name an animal you feel connected to
Definitely cats and snakes
sour cherry: an obscure tradition from your family?
I don’t know that it’s obscure, but we don’t really do Chanukah anymore, so we go out to dinner and exchange gifts and see a panto together
spice: list your favorite herbs
Lavender
Thyme
Sage
tobacco: do you have any addictions?
It’s kinda weird but graham crackers and milk is like my kryptonite
cuckoo clock: are you a morning, a noon, or an evening person?
Defs evening
I have some questions about the USUK Summer Getaway 2017. Is the banner digital art only? What is the event going to be? Is it art and fanfic exchange like last year, or is it following a theme?
The banner is not strictly digital art. Traditional art isn’t a problem as long as it is clean and colored. Hopefully, the art submitted is at a size where it can be used as a banner, seeing as the submissions are for banner art, but if not, some editing will have to be done.
As for the event, we were planning to reveal some details about it later on but it will be simply day-themed with a summer prompt per day of the week. The prompts will be released two weeks prior to the beginning of the event.
I hope this answered your questions!
Are the partners all the people involved in the story of the same number? In other words, do we contact all the people who have the same story number as we do? For example, does the author contact the beta and both artists, Artist #1 contact Artist #2, the author, and the beta?
Technically, you’re all partners, of course, but you don’t have to contact everyone. As long as artist/s and beta contact the author, it should be fine. If you want to, you can of course send everyone a message! That would be handy to ensure that everyone sees the list, too.
Does the fanart have to be a summary of the fanfic or can it be only a scene for the fanfic?
It could be either. An artist could make a cover for the fic, for example, but also illustrate a certain scene, or even more than one!
