Isn't the new vaccine (Shingrix) far more effective and for ages 50+? I've had luck with many patients having insurance help with the cost, so it's not as expensive. Honest question. - an inquisitive NO

@tehallicatz0rs Shingrix is supposed to be much more effective than the live vaccine. Like 96% with shingrix vs maybe 60% at best with the old (and way lower efficacy in the very old)

That's exactly what I thought, but isnt the age requirement also lowered because of improved efficacy? I was told 50+ for Shingrix. I'm not disputing the "needs zoster vaccine for herpes that not zoster" statement.

Sadly Shingrix is not registered in the state where I am, it is registered within the EU, and according to my pharmacy gal it can be imported as a “unregistered medication for special purposes”. Not sure how much is it gonna cost tho.
