The Clarity Project
Today’s clarity FAIL is ripped from the headlines of.... No. Wait. Not the headlines. It’s actually from the tenth paragraph in. It’s a WSJ article about a start-up with some promise. Here’s the quote:
“company name withheld has a team of about five people....”
What, nobody could get an accurate count? The team refused to stand in one place? There are monozygotic triplets on the team? What?
Even if you use one hand to point, most people would still have enough fingers on the other hand to keep track.
[For clarity: headcount is an important business metric. You shouldn't have to settle for an approximation.]
