actually, on that note, have you ever read the pokemon adventures manga? if so, what are your thoughts?

Dude, not only have I read the Pokemon Adventures manga, it was my very first manga and my gateway into anime/manga in general. From the ages of like 12-16 this manga had PRIME real estate in my brain and influenced a lot of my immersive daydreaming.

My favorite arcs are definitely the ones with the Kanto Dex Holders! So the Red/Blue/Green arc, the Yellow arc, the Gold/Silver/Crystal arc, and the FRLG arc. I also really enjoyed the Ruby/Sapphire arc and its ORAS sequel.

When I got older I fell off the manga quite a bit, sadly; the Black/White arc is the last one I've read in full apart from ORAS. One of these days I'm definitely going to catch up with the series though, from what I can tell the newer arcs are really good.
