Nah but I'm so fucking happy about Venezuela winning that I could barely sleep last night and yet I feel completely rested.
For context: Venezuela is primarily a baseball country. Parents would do anything to be able to pay a baseball academy for their kids in hope of keeping them away from becoming a criminal or a gang member— those academies are not cheap.
Ronald Acuña Jr and Maikel García themselves are from a small fisher town. Aragua is so feared in other countries for "El Tren de Aragua", aka the infamous criminal organization, but it's also one of the states with most MLB players in the USA.
Baseball is just a big part of our culture. It is OUR sport. One of the things that unites us the most despite our political beliefs or social status. It's the opportunity that poor families bet on, because if one of their kids sign with a MLB team, they have the chance to get a better life.
It is that deep.

When Maikel García said "this is not for Latam, this is for Venezuela and we played for Venezuela" and people get offended, they forget the amount of hardships we have faced in the last 20 years.
So many people died of hunger in times where it was hard to get proper food, of sicknesses and waiting for their medical treatment, of stress after the bombing of January 3rd, even left the country hoping for a better future just to be killed there because we are regarded as criminals just 'cause of our nationalities.
Are there many Venezuelans criminals out there? Yes, but there are also so many Venezuelans hard workers that are paying for the sins of others just because they want to do things right.
The players said it: they won for us. They won to give us hope, to give us joy, to see us cheering in the streets and singing and dancing once more.
This was absolutely for Venezuela 💛💙❤️
