World Cyber Arena Announce $3.2 Million Tournament Series
The details of the World Cyber Arena (WCA) series were announced today in a press conference at Beijing National Convention Centre, revealing that 7 PC and mobile games will be involved at the event in Yinchuan, China occurring in early October. The 7 games and distribution of the $3.2 Million prize-pool were revealed as (approximately): Dota 2 - $470,000 Hearthstone - $190,000 World of Tanks - $100,000 Crossfire - $100,000 Warcraft III - $95,000 Dota Legend (mobile) - $1,100,000 CQB Online (mobile) - $1,100,000 WCA aims to bring 3,200 competitors from a range of 21 different countries to the event, adding to the line-up of major international offline e-sport events planned for China in the final months of 2014 including i-league and World E-sport Championships 2014. Information on exact dates, how the tournaments will be run and when qualifiers for teams and players hoping to compete will occur have not yet been revealed.
