Botanical Headcanons

POPPY :   what comforts your muse ?

Music, company, wine, and cooking. 

Jaskier used company and music as an escape from his life starting in his teenage years and, yes, company does have a couple of meanings here. Though, when it comes to company, that’s not really a coping mechanism entirely, it’s just something that happens, but intentional or not, it still comforts him. Music is part of escapism for him, his entire Jaskier persona is. It’s a chance to dive into a world of emotions, to vent, to express himself, to be loved.

Wine, that one’s a bad habit. A terrible coping mechanism picked up without much thought. Luckily, it’s also the easiest one for him to stop. Perhaps it’s not comfort per say when he has it, but it stops him from thinking too much. Or, sometimes, it just makes him more melancholy. It’s a gamble.

Cooking. That was something initially picked up out of necessity, but he grew to enjoy it. When possible, he will cook and bake frequently. He’s a bit of a stress cooker/baker when he has nothing else to occupy himself with.
