“ so, you missed out on a lot while you weren’t quite yourself. time to get caught up on the good stuff, “ she called out as she entered the room. she had two bakery boxes balanced together in one hand and a bright smile on her face. “ they made leaps and bounds advancements in donut technology. one of them has a croissant center and it sounds weird but it tastes like heaven. then there’s this other one and they call it the turducken of donuts. its three different ones together, looks like a bullseye kind of. I also thought we could watch some movies that came out during that time. truth be told, I haven’t seen them either. “

it had not been her best night ever. it took a great amount of self control not to follow after him. it took even more not to try to spy on his thoughts and his mind. he said he wanted his space, he wanted to think. he wanted all of that WITHOUT HER. oh how those two words had cut her but she had been determined not to let it show.
as time went on, she grew more anxious as she looked around the soho penthouse. this had been their home once upon a time. they had tried to make a life together here and they were trying to do the same again but sure enough, it was just like last time. one of them was withdrawn and upset while the other felt helpless and lost as to how to help them. anxiety got the better of her.
by the time dawn broke through the windows and filled the penthouse with a glowing light, it was obvious she had moved furniture around out of her way to train. but she could be found on their bed, wearing one of his shirts and hugging his pillow close to her chest as she slept, albeit fitfully. still, she had the largest concern that he would not return. her fear never once strayed towards fantomex. he could die, she would shed no tears over him. all that mattered to her right now was getting him to come home and hopefully where they could work this out.

WING CLEANING | PREENINGsixteen feet is a massive wing span and that means a lot of feathers. since the dawning days of their relationship, betsy has always marveled at his wings ( even when they were metal ) but the feathered ones have always held a special place in her heart. it started small, she would smooth out the feathers, making sure the vane was smooth and uniform along all of the primary flight feathers. when he’s molting, she helps with that as well and helps scratch any itchy spots where new feathers are coming in. it has reached a point where if they are watching something on TV, she will either use a wing as a blanket and a way to stay close or she will mindlessly preen and smooth out his feathers while focused on the show / movie.
COOKINGbetsy loves to cook and she is very particular about who she allows in the kitchen with her, but warren has always been welcome. he’s easily the best sous chef she could ever ask for, or he mans the recipe and dictates it to her. at the same time, he has some recipes that are his specialty and they swap positions – she’ll follow his command and read out recipe instructions whenever he wants / needs them. they also take turns claiming they ‘cooked’ depending on who ordered or picked up take out on the way home or whenever they were too tired ( too lazy ) to get up and go out or make something from scratch. it is a simple pleasure that they don’t always get to enjoy due to the nature of their jobs.
LIVING TOGETHERtechnically speaking, the places they live together are in warren’s name but the soho penthouse in particular is something uniquely theirs. since the beginning, it has been an undertaking that they made sure fit the both of them. trips to IKEA and other furniture stores, sitting on couch after couch after couch, debating different things that could match and work together. then when it came to decorating the walls, they made a point of putting up pictures of friends and loved ones – everything they could do to remember the good times, who they were and where they came from. they have also had to buy new lamps more times than they care to admit and finally gave up and invested in recessed lighting so an unexpected flap of wings doesn’t kill everything in their path.
