Alice peered down at the new paintbrush that she’d been eyeing for about two weeks each time she visited the on campus bookstore. They’d just come in and her old brushes were fading fast. She had been waiting til she had a bit more money since they were rather pricey but, suddenly, she was hit with this sudden urge to just pocket the item.
‘Curiouser and Curiouser,’ Alice thought to herself as she stared down at the item in her hand. She contemplated it a second more before another wave struck her like lightning and any hesitation, or even the thought of hesitation vanished from her mind.
Scanning the room for any potential witnesses, she ripped the bar code off of the paintbrush, then two, then three of them until she could no longer fit them in the inside pocket of her jacket. She had to have them.
