World Down Syndrome Day 2017

Happy World Down Syndrome Day, all! 4 years ago this week, it went from the happiest moment to the scariest one for me. I was told my long awaited, perfect bundle of joy had a genetic issue. Oh how I cried while they waited for test results! Most genetic issues I had know of that they wouldn't detect would mean he might not live long. I was devastated. When they finally told me it was down syndrome, I was relieved. My baby would live! I was still scared for the future, but knowing what I do now, he will be ok. Vince is a great big brother, and brings me more joy than I can count. I couldn't be more proud of all the progress he's made this year at school.
