@corferox has entered. but also ♣ – A spinning hug
These last few weeks spent in the care and companionship of her family have been the best of Mipha’s life. For a century, she had called Ruta her home and her prison. Now, she was tended to by her people, always inquiring about her well-being.
However, even as the celebrations have died down to a more weekly affair, the waters have become still once more, Mipha struggled. Her father did not let her wander outside the Domain, nay, not even out of his sight at points! Though she tried to explain that she was still a champion, she longed to see if her comrades had made it too.
“They will come for you, tadpole,” Dorephan said with ease, “Be patient.”
And so, Mipha would spend her days in the company of her family. Dorephan gave her time to ease herself back into their society, allowing her to rest and enjoy the court as they celebrated her return.
She graced the room, being escorted by her dear younger brother. She always mused how it was pretty funny that she was carrying him in her arms not too long ago.
Still, they rejoiced. They danced, sang, and spoke the legends of old, comparing the Zora Princess to one of legend, another that had helped slay the demon king. At this point, the Zora Captains had invited Mipha to display her talents in combat against their newest recruits. (Something she accepted with a laugh!)
That is until the Zora Prince turned his attention to the outskirts of the Domain.
“Sister, look!” Sidon’s exclamation causes the entire court to go quiet as Mipha approaches the outside stairs. In the distance, that shade of blue was unmistakable. It was the Hylian Princess and her Knight.
Mipha drops her trident without tact and grace, barreling down the stairs to the throne room. With each stride, her people aren’t far behind, only stopping on the balcony below to witness the reunion set over a century.
There is no hesitation in her movements, none to check if this were a dream. As her friends draw closer and closer, she notices the knight has begun to run as well.
The Zora nearly pounces on Link as she opens up for his embrace. Her arms wrap around Hylian’s shoulders as he twirls her in place. Her expression is joyful, and a burst of deep seeded laughter passes through her lips without a filter. It certainly wasn’t a dream, and Mipha couldn’t be more elated.
“You’re here!” With volume unlike herself, she chimes like a bell, “Oh, thank Hylia, you’re both unharmed.”
As the twirling stops, she takes a moment to press her clawed hand lightly against the Hylian’s cheek. An embrace they had long waited for since their final meeting in Ruta. Her voice dropping below her usual tone as her gaze softens, “I never doubted for a second that you would return. I am forever grateful for you, Link.”
The silence between them is unmistakable, one of understanding. Then, a bellow from nearby brings them back to the moment. “Link! Princess!” Sidon beams, “Come! Let us celebrate your triumph!” As soon as he finishes, the Zora people begin to cheer once more.
It would be another sleepless night full of laughter and peace.
