I think one of the demographics that gets overlooked a lot is transient people who cannot wait for medical services and just end up giving up on it.
I've needed a check-up and various tests run for literal years, but I don't even know if I'm going to be in my current housing for long enough to be on the wait list for it. When I'm told that it will take 8+ months to get a primary care physician, I just kind of give up. Why would it be worth it to me to sign up for all of this, only to move before I can even see them?
There needs to be more medical care that isn't centered around your primary care physician if I am being honest. It's really difficult to wait so long for care only to have a bad doctor or not even live in the area with your doctor anymore. I can't get most forms of care because I'm on a waitlist for a primary care physician. I fear that this will kill me eventually.
