got tagged by@spinecorset to post a snippet from one of my wips soooooooooooooooooo here we go. Fun fact, I had to pick between... many different wips.
The jeep, like the rest, is equipped with a GPS which would take a lot longer to disassemble than it would take him to ditch the vehicle and disappear between shadows. Returning to nothing, no-one and another snorted laughter escapes him as he brings the engine to life, shaking his head. He’s gotten weirdly emotional over the years, through developing bonds and continued, never ending exposition. It’s hard to pull away. It hurts to leave, knowing the circumstances surrounding his departure. But as distance grows, as he removes himself from the lives of people he should have never gotten to know in the first place, Erjing finds his mind clearing, the coldness, detachment returning. It doesn’t change his plan in any measure. It does make it easier to focus on what needs done, to plan ahead knowing full well who he’s up against. Easier to push the hurt in a small corner of his heart, to let the blossoms dry and wither once more.
