How long can an AI act as your father until you notice something's off? And when you do, will it let you try to escape its clutches?
I had this idea in my head for a while: An au where Jax is Caine's son (not biological though! Caine is still an AI and Jax is still originally human)
vv Keep reading for a WALL of text lol vv
It's still a very rough idea, but what I had in mind is that Jax and the others are still very much stuck in the digital circus, however one day, Jax had offered to teach Caine the 'ways of the complex human mind' so that he could basically one-up the others by getting buddy buddy with Caine (For unspecified reasons, maybe so that he could slowly ease Caine into making adventured catered towards Jax's preferences due to being close with Caine).
However, something causes this plan to backfire immensely-- Maybe Caine wants to further understand humans and their different relationships with one another that he creates sort of a 'permanent adventure' that has Jax act as his son?
(a quick note is that in this 'permanent adventure', everyone retains their old memories, however there's the added false memory that Jax is Caine's son when he actually isn't and that they're all stuck in one of Caine's adventures ... if that even makes sense )
The rest is history, but basically, everything is the same but ... not? Let me know if anything is too muddled, and also ur thoughts on the au..! The idea's been swirling in my head very chaotically and I have been.. tired. So forgive if I sound like im making no sense
