riverdale is a prime example of “audience demands X and Y of creators, throws tantrums when creators do choices and writing they don’t like” and it’s been like this since the series began. 

when the audience can’t separate “i don’t like this personally but i’ll still watch it” and “this creative choice is garbage, fuck respecting the creators and their work” it’s sad to watch. there’s a difference between actual bad writing and a creative choice you just don’t personally agree with.
