Do you ascribe different moods and feelings to every day of the week? Beyond the obvious ones, like Sunday nights being melancholic and Fridays filled with anticipation, there are so many grey areas that fill in the gaps and are interesting to explore how they reflect our lives back in the mirror. sleepyhaze’s most recent release, weaknights, takes aim at uncovering these feelings, as each track is named for a day of the week, with the last two tracks being related as the relationship between night and day as “am” and “pm”. I was particularly enamored with “friday night”; I was reminded here of many a Friday night where at one moment the possibilities seem endless, while reality begins to settle in the next.
