Sometimes we need to bring the dark out of the shadows! Can you guess who said which statement? I created this for people to have a little context on the history of our country and how far back we've gone in the last 3+ years. John Calhoun helped to start the Civil War because he wanted to keep slavery intact. His statue is thankfully one that has been ripped down. Similarly, Trump has divided this nation along race and otherism. A divisive President is not American President. It's also not the direction that will help the country be it's best. Like doing any big job, you want your whole team to be healthy and at it's best. There is a lot of heavy lifting we do in our country every day. We all have jobs, most of which are on pause because of Covid. One of the jobs we have but have been lax on is our Citizenship! Only 50% of us VOTE!?! Why? Voting should be the biggest part but a single part of being a citizen. You can't expect our representatives to read our minds! The ONLY way to create change is not by complaining about it but by doing something about it! Voting doesn't cost any money but not voting costs plenty! Not voting costs your voice in this democracy, your health (Covid, Health Care or not), money (Whether you do or don't get pandemic unemployment, taxes, minimum wage, etc), YOUR LIFE (almost 180,000 people have died because of covid, no insurance for pre-existing conditions, pre Obamacare, etc). My Multi Generational March with my incredible mother for @justiceforgeorgenyc ! ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽♥️♥️♥️ We started in Washington Square Park and marched up town. She marched in the early 1960’s for Civil Rights and against the Vietnam War! There should be take a parent or take a child to a march day! Now all these years later, we go again to keep the spirit moving forward!
