How much have we learned over the past 55 years since Malcom X participated in the Oxford Student Union Debate and shared his understanding of the nature of racism?

This was the central theme of our online discussion organized by Webster Leiden Campus - Webster University USA (25-06-2020) in support of the Black Lives Matter movement with students participating from our campuses in Asia, Africa, America and Europe. This event was the first in a series of events related to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Erica Wagner works in Admissions and Recruitment at Webster Leiden. She has lived in several countries and has obtained her Bachelor of Arts in History and her Master of Arts in International Relations.

In our new Staff in the Spotlight, she shares how visiting the Netherlands rekindled her dream of doing her Master's in Europe, finding true diversity at Webster and what she thinks every student should do who decides to enroll at Webster Leiden. 🎓

Are you ready to make a change?

We created the Global Citizen Scholarship in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by international students. The award is a 50% scholarship which amounts to € 8000 for each year of the Bachelor Program. This award will be presented to three students per year (first winners). In addition, three students will receive free housing for 1 year at the Leiden Campus Living & Learning Center (second winners).

What you need to do:

Show us how you can inspire and make a change!

Tell your story in a unique and visually-appealing way.

Creative use of media is encouraged: video format, photo with an essay or essay.

We developed online counseling services to guide students and faculty during these difficult times. 'Facing uncertainty and other negative emotions' is a 3-part webinar that explores individual and collective changes after Covid-19, such as isolation, loneliness and strategies of coping, among other subjects. You can join these webinars every Thursday at 2.00 p.m., starting April 30th. |
