Hemp Kettle Tea Company expresses deepest gratitude and thanks to Jailbreak Brewing Company for hosting today's Ellicott City Fundraiser and accepting our tea kits for raffle prizes. *** My name is Minna and I am the owner of Hemp Kettle Tea Company. I lived off of Centennial Lane from elementary to high school, '92 to '01. I rode my bike up and around OEC. I would return to EC and OEC for family and friends. We had Tea on the Tibur, the Judge's Bench, La Palapa, Ghost Town Odditorium, Cocoa Lane, Old Mill Bakery, Bean Hollow, Ellicott Mills Brewing, and the boulder we climbed on before it was officially illegal to climb it... *all the antique shops* were basically museums where you could hold a bygone era in your hands and the shop keepers could spin a good yarn about the history and times of any given piece. My wife and I were married at the OEC courthouse and had our first meal together as married women at Tersiguel's French Country Restaurant. As an EC native, I will always cry for Old Ellicott City. It was the heart of our hometown and the county. As a 10-yr Laurel resident, I am crying again, but with pride and gratitude to the leadership of local business, Jailbreak Brewing Co. I am deeply moved by the company's collective efforts in driving this event forward and unifying the community with positivity and hope for individuals and partners to help rebuild Old Ellicott City.
