It is however, an acknowledgment that myths shift, and are reformed over time in order to make a better understanding of our times, in our ways, for our purposes. Navigating Cook, navigates the shifting myth of Cook. Art has always been at the heart of myth-making. Such was the role of the 18th Century Artist to build the myth of Cook, so to, is it the role of the contemporary Artist to interrogate it. Myth making is never fixed; it must chart a course for new horizons on ever shifting seas.
