I've been tagged by the ever-fantastic avengers-in-the-impala.
1. What is the best book you have ever read and why? Best...oh, that's a vague term. Best like most well-written, best like influenced me the most? I'm going to go with the book I always go back to again and again and that's John Dies at the End by David Wong. Never before have I actually laughed out loud while reading a book. It's humorous and disturbing, like Silent Hill with fart jokes. I highly recommend it, and the sequel, This Book is Full of Spiders (Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch It).
2. Favourite actor/actress? Just one?! Jeez. Uh, I really like Tom Hanks. I've probably seen just about every single movie he's been in, and his movies are so connected to certain events in my life, and he reminds me of the good side of my dad. Tom Hanks can do no wrong. Plus he just seems like a fun dude.
3. If you could live in one place in the world, where would it be and why? Probably London, because there are a lot of opportunities there for actors/voice actors. And I hate L.A..
4. Do you own any pets? Well, I didn't bring them to college with me, but I have one dachshund, Maximilien Robespierre (Max), the light of my life, and two cats, Piper (bitch cat) and Hogarth (gross cat).
5. What is your dream job? Acting, whether on a stage, on film, or on a microphone. I'm unhappy with myself, so I wish to live my life vicariously through roles!
6. If your house was on fire and you had time to save one thing, and one thing only, what would it be? So the answer changes depending on which "house" we're referring to. If I'm here, at my dorm (which I won't be for much longer), I would save my computer because it's got so much stuff on it for school and whatnot. Everything else in here is replaceable. At my home-home, my dog. If my dog doesn't count as a thing, my computer again.
7. If you could live in any time period/ era, when would you live and why? Oh why would you ask me this oh god. Fun fact about me: sometimes, when I space off during a lecture, I think up a random year in the past and decide what city I'd want to live in for that year. I am a complete nerd. I guess post-WWII, because radio acting was super hot back then and I love doing it. Plus, look at that fashion!
8. What fandoms are you a part of, if any, and why are you a fan? I could write a novel about this. I'll just do current fandoms that I'm actually "active" in, in the order I think of them. Sherlock (BBC and ACD), because I love a good mystery and I'm a raging sociopath; Doctor Who, because I like history and sci-fi and I wish I was a companion and Tennant is a hottie; Harry Potter, because why are you on tumblr if you don't like Harry Potter; Avengers/Marvel universe, because comic book movies are awesome and I wish I was a superhero; Fallout (video game series, for those who aren't familiar), because it's such an in-depth universe with such a wonderful story to it and I'm terrified of nuclear war and it has awesome jazz music in it; LOTR/Hobbit, because Tolkien works are the father of all modern fantasy literature and they're awesome...AND THAT'S ALL I CAN THINK OF BUT I LIKE OTHER STUFF TOO???
9. If you won £1000, what would you do with it? Move to the U.K. and finish school there. Oh, that's not quite enough money to do that with, is it? Bah. I guess I would pay off some of my college loans.
10. Who is your favourite musician/ band? DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE. I'm just going to say one I like, ok? If you want to talk to me about music please do because I can go on for ages, ok? Charles Mingus. Look up the song "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" and you'll see why. Or "Boogiestop Shuffle".
11. Who is your inspiration? Why do they inspire you? My Nana. She came from a family riddled by alcohol addiction and abuse, and she rose above it. She was a feminist in a time of housewives and crinoline, and she's the biggest badass I know. She crochets, quilts, sews, cooks, and reads fantasy books, and she told me once that when she was a teenager she wanted to run away and become a flower child. She did, for like two weeks. Janis Joplin threw up on her. Plus Nana has an awesome Northern Texas accent that I accidentally slip in to if I spend a lot of time at their house. MY NANA IS THE BEE'S KNEES.
