𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 ! ghostface has finally arrived. after one miss karen page had visited roseville to write an article for the new york bulletin regarding the ghostface murders, word had spread of his existence. it’d been roughly a year since then, though truthfully it feels like yesterday as he scans the scribbled text in his journal - reliving the past before starting his first day at the daily bugle. he’d been lying low, since jed had been under scrutiny.
danny hadn’t been to any cities like this before, hadn’t dared to. it was risky, so many people, cameras and eyes in comparison to the smaller towns within utah and pennsylvania. but since his grandiose appearance in city papers and with the whisper of where will he go next fading slowly, he had decided he needed to do something more extravagant. the shameless social media he’d set up for the ghostface persona after roseville needed more. his followers sought gossip, media yearned for content. 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 sits comfortably in his car. he closes the journal and glances at the clock. time to go in. he’s ten minutes early but he wants to make a good impression. quinn is a people pleaser, not going out of his way to impress people unlike jed, but makes enough of an effort for others to generally enjoy his company. he’s more playful than jed, and has a cool air about him - calm and collected. exiting and locking the vehicle, danny makes his way towards the tabloid building, confidence in his stride but the tilt of his chin says he’s reserved.
he makes eye contact with the receptionist and gives a charming smile. there’s a boyish element to it, one that immediately secures every ounce of the woman’s attention. “ morning, I’m quinn cooper, it’s my first day ... don’t suppose you could let mr jameson know I’m here ? ” his pronunciation is sharp, far from lazy, with a vague twang added; though softly spoken. she nods and tells him to take a seat. danny observes her as she makes the phone call. she subtly flinches at what he imagines to be the voice on the other end of the line. great, a boss that’ll test his patience.
the receptionist informs him that jameson will see him now and leads him up a flight of stairs, past numerous desks and over to an office. he knocks twice and then enters, closing the door behind him. jameson is seated in his chair with his back turned, the rich stink of cigars permeating the air and danny thinks, were he not a smoker himself he’d likely be struggling with it. after listening to the man rant down the phone for a solid five minutes, he’s relieved when the chair swivels and the other meets his gaze.

quinn’s lips part to question the statement but he pauses when jameson rises and gestures for him to follow as he exits the office. someone is passing by, minding their own business when the editor-in-chief calls upon them.

“ guess you’re my guide for the day. name’s quinn. ”
