Create a to-do list from emails, issues, and support tickets
Our every day starts with a 'to-do-today' kind of list. We have a startup to run, a day job to do, and a family to care about. Writing lists is the easiest way to stay sane.
Lots of tasks come from other apps - support systems, bug and issue trackers. Emails bring a lot of customer feedback, which often requires immediate action.
It's easier to keep control over daily plans when you see all to-dos as one list.
Tickets, emails and bug reports - all go in the same list with other to-dos.
We do it with Checkvist Web Clipper, which integrates with Gmail, Jira, Zendesk, and other apps, out of the box.
Thus one can collect all the bits and pieces in one place, organize with tags, set time estimates and due dates. And then work on them as you find convenient.
And the last - but not least, have one unified 'done list' by the end of the day 🤓
Create action items from Gmail emails
Open an email
Pre-select email text you want to add as a note.
Click the web clipper icon in the browser toolbar, or press Shift-Alt-c.
Select a target destination, add your own text, sub-tasks, set due dates, and tags.
Press Ctrl-Enter to create a list item in Checkvist.
To connect Checkvist with desktop mailing apps, use built-in email integration.
Clip Zendesk, Jira, or YouTrack tickets to Checkvist
Open a Zendesk ticket, click the web clipper icon in the toolbar.
Checkvist will create a list item with the ticket's ID and the title. Add tags, due dates, notes, or sub-tasks, and share with others.
Clip GitHub and GitLab pages to Checkvist
You can create lists from the issues or pages in GitHub or GitLab.
The order is the same:
Open the page
Invoke the web clipper with Shift-Alt-c
Add all details and attributes you need.
Press Ctrl-Enter to create a list item.
JetBrains Space integration
Space is a new team management tool from JetBrains. They say it is going to cover the whole product lifecycle, from documentation and code review to support and help desk.
If you live on the cutting edge and participate in their Early Access Program, use Checkvist as an additional list-making layer.
All supported page types for GitHub, GitLab, and Space are listed in the Checkvist reference.
New autocompletion in Web Clipper
A new feature you want to use when adding attributes to the clippings, like tags.
This is especially helpful when you have several similar tags in the system. If you do, it's better to either merge tags or select the correct one in the first place. And now the latter is much easier :)
