My Choice (for webslingernerd)
Gwen held Peter's arm as they walked through the city, her eyes bright and a smile on her face. For the first time that week there was nothing wrong--no fires, no fights, no robberies, no criminals. It was fantastic. She had missed spending time with Peter possibly more than anything else, and despite her sore muscles she was happy to just wander with him.
"No, I'm serious, I saw him-" she said with a laugh, though she was quickly cut off by the sound of sirens. She bit her lip, her brows furrowed, and urged it to just be some kind of driving violation. When she heard screaming she sighed, dropping her head a moment. This was why she kept her suit in her purse.
"I'll be right back, I have to.. I have to go to the bathroom," she said, both hands clutching the strap to her bag. She ducked into the cafe beside them, and broke into a sprint when she was sure Peter couldn't see her.
She ducked into the bathroom, first ensuring the window led to the alley, then stripped out of her clothes and into her suit. She slipped out the window, and quickly moved through the streets, using the light posts and traffic lights to propel herself forward. Of course, of course the one day she wanted for herself, to spend with the one person she never got to see anymore, and criminals had to go and mess it up.
